We will be closed July 4, but here’s some Deborah goodies for you to look forward to seeing after the holiday (maybe)

We are continuing to work through some of Deborah’s possessions that she wanted to be sold, so here are two super rare beauties that are available for sale. (We’re sorry, but we are unable to do layaways on Deborah’s items and they do NOT count towards your coupon.)

1st – We have the big beauty. Deborah loved this piece. It is a chatoyant jade sphere. Part of what makes this so special, is the fact it is chatoyant – because most jade is opaque – and due to it’s size. It is very difficult to measure a sphere without a tape measure, so the ruler in the photo is to give you a rough idea of how large it is in diameter. However, what is very accurate is the weight shown on the scale – that is listed in pounds, folks. Yes, POUNDS. 7.95 pounds. As we had been going through her things while working on her trust, I labeled, moved things around, and adjusted dispersals as she had asked. During this time, I got to see IT. The big IT. THE chatoyant jade sphere. She had mentioned how this was one of her favorites. She told me she had never seen a chatoyant jade sphere this large and how gorgeous she thought it was and how she hoped she’d never have to sell it. (Which was pretty easy, because it never got as far as the shop 🙂 She had an amazing collection, you guys. For anyone fortunate enough to visit her house, you know what I’m talking about. While we sat and discussed it, she told me the price $4500. To which I simply – and not nearly descriptively enough – replied, “WoW”. So for those interested in the qualities of the stone, here we go:

A 5.5 inch chatoyant (reflective) jade sphere weighing almost 8 pounds. Shown on a digital scale with a ruler.
Deborah’s favorite

Qualities of jade: Positive use and clear memory of dream state.  Transmutes negativity, brings peace, access spiritual worlds.  Releases limitation, inspires ambition.  Self -reliance, self -sufficiency, self assurance, confidence.

Chatoyant: having a changeable luster or color with an undulating (what a great word) narrow band of white light. So a chatoyant stone will have a reflective quality (similar to moonstone, cat’s eye and tiger’s eye) that travels across the face of the stone. Chatoyancy typically seen on both sides of a stone (as the light will travel through it). For a non-gemstone example think of silk as light reflects on it’s high and low points.

(for size – and yes – I bumped the scale!)

2nd – We have a blue kyanite sphere. Again, it is very difficult to measure a sphere with a tape measure, so the ruler in the photo is to give you a rough idea of how large it is in diameter. However, what is very accurate is the weight shown on the scale – that is listed in pounds, folks. POUNDS. 4.42 pounds. While it’s not as big as the jade, I assure you, it vibrates to a tune all it’s own. This was another piece that she snatched before it hit the sales floor – owner’s privileges, of course! It might seem small, but I assure you, it’s mighty. Again, it’s difficult to price these items when you can’t find anything as big – or as pretty – and finding a kyanite sphere this big was impossible. So, after much research, we came to a price that was fair for the trust. $1350.
