Aries (Spring Equinox-approx. April 21st): This is the beginning of the next few weeks of tension, Aries, and while this is true most years, you may find it is truer this time. Tensions between doing what is best for you and best for others, especially if they conflict with your life direction, may be the theme for the first half of October. As the month moves on though, you may discover that the personal relationships fade to the background, and the new focus is on being proactive when it comes to seizing the opportunities that can advance your overall life direction. You may also find that it is a good time to change bad habits, and heal the parts of you that need it. The Mercury retrograde will have the theme of how words wound, if you speak without forethought.
Taurus (Approx. April 21st to approx. May 21st): We are in Libra season, and Taurus and Libra share the same ruling planet of Venus, so you may find October starts off fortunate and good in general. The intimate relationship issues you may have just got done going through, are gently fading into the background. However, you may also see that it is time to make several adjustments in your life, most of them having to do with said loved ones. This may become strongly apparent when Mercury goes retrograde. This may be a challenging Mercury retrograde, as it is stressing your natal Taurus side. So you may experience a tension in the air, and conflict with stubborn people for no reason. As the month progresses, you may notice the tension builds. The way through, though, is by focusing on what matters, and having a healthy perspective for your priorities.
Gemini (Approx. May 21st to Summer Solstice): October may start off with some good fortune and perhaps romance is in the air, too, so it would be wise to embrace it as a new start. This window will only last a week or two, but even then, it does not weaken that much over the next two weeks. As the middle of the month approaches though, Mercury retrogrades, and for the next few weeks you may find it wise to play things cautious and conservative until you see what the lessons for this period really are. You may also find you have more energy than normal, and that now is a good time to take a closer look at your inner motivations. You may also find this is a good time to put extra effort into your career and overall direction of life.
Cancer (Summer Solstice to approx. July 21st): While the professional life tension may be continuing, you may also find that at the beginning of the month, it is wise to sharpen your psychic skills, and improve your ability to listen to your intuition. Your emotions may be agitated, and in general you may be out of sorts because of the Mars retrograde, but all of this can be worked with through self-reflection and making the necessary inner changes. As the month progresses, Mercury retrogrades, and this could be a blessing in disguise. This may be an emotionally personal one, Cancerians, but it the right steps are taken, you can set yourself up for some long term success because of what comes up. Love and money may be two good things that are working for you towards the latter part of October, and maybe a little autumn cleaning in your office, too.
Leo (Approx. July 21st to approx. August 21st): October may start off gentle enough, as situations having to do with your personal romances move along quite well, freeing your energy for other pursuits, namely the ones that it is time to start. October starts off with a good time for new beginnings. However, when Mercury retrogrades in the middle of the month, you may find it takes more of your time and energy to deal with than you were going to give it. The major themes of this retrograde for you are workplace communication, communication with those that you are passionate with, and being too passionate when it would be wiser to back off. As the month progresses after that, you may find that dealing with the fallout from this retrograde is cumbersome and time consuming, and possibly emotionally raw, too, so it would be wise to practice mindfulness and compassion.
Virgo (Approx. August 21st to Autumnal Equinox): October starts off with an opportunity to make sure headway in workplace conversations ahead of the upcoming Mercury retrograde. You may also find it is a good time to start looking ahead at wrapping up the calendar year. The intimate relationships in your life may take some adjustments, but other than that, things may be nice and quiet. Most of that will change when Mercury retrogrades in the middle of the month. While overall the retrograde may be mostly work related and while rough, works out for the best, you may find it still has its issues to address. As Mercury retrogrades though, Venus makes its way through your sign, bringing you unexpected good things having to do with your romantic relationships and daily cash flow.
Libra (Autumnal Equinox to approx. October 21st): Happy birthday Libras! This is your month to treat yourself, so why not do it? As October begins, you may find that the overall direction of life is still challenged, and that there is a general tension in the air. A lot of this has to do with balancing out who you are with what you want and who you are with along the way. The intensity of this tension will fade quickly, though, but you may find you work with this for quite a while yet. As the month progresses, you may find that yes, you are affected by the Mercury retrograde, but not to the degree of other signs. You may also find that you can sense good things on their way, and they will arrive the last week of the month or the first few days of November.
Scorpio (Approx. October 21st to approx. November 21st): Chattiness and pursuing your own interests may be the theme at the start of the month, but it would be wise to keep your eye on the ball when it comes to your career. You may also find that for a while, the Mars retrograde will hit you harder than the Mercury one. The Mercury retrograde will still hit you, but Mars is longer and more internally intense. As October progresses, you may find that things begin to ease up, and that the Mercury retrograde is a good time for self-reflection as it pertains to where your passions are, and why. You may also find that you can now move ahead with some professional goals that have been on hold since earlier this year, and that if you create the right opportunities, things work out in your favor in the long run.
Sagittarius (Approx. November 21st to Winter Solstice): The beginning of October may begin nice and smooth, especially when it comes to your friends and personal relationships. You may also find that there are still a few little good surprises coming your way as well, unexpectedly. All in all, you may find that October starts on a high note, or at least a higher note than has been the case. Even when Mercury retrogrades, you may find it is not as bad as you thought it may be. As the month progresses, you may find that more and more adjustments may be needed, so it is wise to remember that adaptation is the key to evolution. For all of the month, it would be wise to spend your money conservatively and to play it safe when it comes to your health.
Capricorn (Winter Solstice to approx. January 21st): When October begins, you may find the themes are challenges in your personal and possibly romantic relationships, so it would be wise to give them extra attention. To help you with this, your communication is extra sharp. You may also find that your emotions are a little edgier than normal, and that your temper is shorter and you may be more prone to accidents if you’re not careful. This will quiet down a few days into the month, though. When Mercury retrograde arrives, it may affect you as a regular retrograde, but what makes this one unique is that when you address what needs addressed, you may create opportunities for yourself in the long run. The later in the month it gets, the better it may get, too, so it would be wise to remember that at the beginning.
Aquarius (Approx. January 21st to approx. February 21st): A second wind may be at your disposal as the month starts, so it would be wise to run with it when it arrives. Communication may be challenged though, and that is the unfortunate undercurrent of this Mercury retrograde. This Mercury retrograde is in Scorpio, which generally does not get along with Aquarius, so this may be a challenging retrograde, which means to handle it with care. As the month progresses, you may notice things just keep getting more and more challenging, and this is due to the retrograde, so if you keep in mind it is only the retrograde, you should be able to come out of things okay. You may also find that now the focus is on making small adjustments to accomplish what would otherwise be easy to achieve.
Pisces (Approx. February 21st to Spring Equinox): Communication may be flowing along nice and smoothly right now, so it would be wise to simply go with it. This may be especially true when it comes to business and your shared resources. The career may also be rolling along nice and smoothly too, making this a good time to wrap up what needs it. When the Mercury retrograde arrives, you may find that yes, you feel the retrograde, but that things work out for the best in the long run, and relatively painlessly in the process. As the month moves beyond that, you may find it wise to spend cautiously, and to pay extra attention to your health, and the cleanliness of your work environment. This is also a good time to focus on the career, occupation, and where you’re going in life in general, and when you take this look, you may see things in a different light.
*ALL SIGNS* September 9th through November 14th, Mars will retrograde. This only happens approximately once every two years, and in this case it means Mars will be in its own sign for approximately six months, part of which is now through the end of the year. Mars in Aries, especially retrograde, tells us now is a good time to review where your energy is going and why. You may also find it wise to focus on any healing that you want to do discreetly, and to think about the things that are happening behind the scenes. Some of these should be brought to the surface, while other things shouldn’t. You may also find it wise to focus on spiritual healing, or healing having to do with the physical head and brain. Mars in its sign of Aries does tell us you can expect the aggressive situations in society to continue. However, if the focus of those working behind the scenes is on healing and peace, then now through the end of the retrograde this healing work is being done in quiet, for the greatest growth and good of all.
