*For All Signs: Mercury stations retrograde on March 31, 2024, at 5:15 PM central time at twenty-seven degrees Aries. It will stay retrograde until April 26, 2024, at 7:55 AM central time, at sixteen degrees Aries. This is the first noteworthy retrograde of the year and closes the window on moving forward without juggling retrograde effects. In short, April begins with a bang.

Aries (Spring Equinox-approx. April 21st): Happy birthday, Aries! This is your month, but wow, what a month it is! To begin, Mercury retrogrades in your sign, meaning many of you will deal with situations during the month that will impact your overall life rather than being relegated to only one aspect. The first two weeks are about moving forward, healing your wounds, and learning to work within your limits. Emotionally, you may feel out of sorts as the month starts, but this will be short-lived. As the month continues, you may find the emphasis stays on moving forward, but now it focuses on communication, romance, creativity, and personal growth. Emotions may require some minor adjustments, particularly regarding your spiritual path, how you handle emotions maturely, and growing up when appropriate.Â
Taurus (Approx. April 21st to approx. May 21st): As April begins, you may find you are optimistic and can see good things coming, but they are still a little ways off and won’t manifest until the end of the month, so now is a good time to welcome the year’s arrival. The Mercury retrograde highlights what needs to be wrapped up before you can begin new cycles for 2024. Enjoying your creativity and emotional connections with others might also be worth it. Emotional control will probably come easily to you in the first week of the month, allowing you to navigate the Mercury retrograde. As the month progresses, things may become more to your liking, and by the end of the month, it will feel like Taurus season. Emotional and spiritual growth may be wise to focus on until the energy shifts from Aries’s fiery nature to Taurus’s grounded energy. Work has been the theme for the last two weeks, and using work as a focus away from other knotted life areas might be wise to do. Â
Â
Gemini (Approx. May 21st to Summer Solstice): Are you ready? Even though it is not yet Gemini season, it may feel like it with all of the fast-moving activity in Aries, the concentration of planets in Pisces, and the Mercury retrograde, so as April starts, it would be wise to get your running shoes on and get ready to adapt as best you know. Watch for the April 8th eclipse, as it may be emotionally challenging but can help you navigate the upcoming changes easily. As the month matures, you may discover things go from adventurous to rocky. An intense aspect pattern kicks in when the sun enters Taurus, and with it comes challenges and issues to address. In short, the more the Mercury retrograde continues, the more challenging it may be. The good news is that the intensity and challenges associated with the retrograde period will be short-lived and should clear out by the middle of June.Â
Â
Cancer (Summer Solstice to approx. July 21st): In addition to Aries, Libras, and Capricorns, you are one of the signs that will probably feel this Mercury retrograde more than others. In short, challenges may exist when it comes to your family and home life, as well as how you handle your emotions for the first week of the month, and when that dissipates, the emphasis will change, although the intensity may not. However, the first two weeks are also a good time for making mature changes regarding your emotions and spirituality. As we get later into the month, you may find the challenges multiply in number and intensity, but as the Mercury retrograde ends at the end of the month, so will the bulk of these challenges. However, navigating the last two weeks of April may prove a handful, as romance and communication may be challenged. The good news is this same timeframe is a good time to focus on work and bury yourself in daily life tasks.Â
Â
Leo (Approx. July 21st to approx. August 21st): During April, you may face challenges similar to Aries, Cancers, Libras, and Capricorns, except the emphasis for you is on seeing the necessity of change when it is thrust in your face. Part of this entails knowing when to be willful vs. when you are simply being stubborn. The Mercury retrograde will probably highlight things you need to revisit, but the good news is that you are essentially future-proofing your plans for the year. As the month progresses, you may feel a growing tension in the air, but that will not arrive until sometime in early to mid-May, giving you time to wrap up what needs to be done and to focus on adjusting to a quickly changing world. If you make minor internal adjustments, you may find you can accomplish quite a lot in your daily work life. Â
Virgo (Approx. August 21st to Autumnal Equinox): April 2024 and the Mercury retrograde may affect you in many ways similar to Gemini, but the emphasis for you is health and your daily job, rather than personal challenges and communication. The intensity of the Mercury retrograde will be less severe than Geminis, but when retrograde moments do happen, they will be intense. As the month continues, things will even go out quite a bit, and by the end of the month, you may find you are in an excellent position for the upcoming Taurus transits. Yes, emotional and spiritual tensions will be present throughout the month, but this has been happening for a while now and will continue for a while, so there is no need to worry about them any more than normal. Late in the month, your intuition may be stronger than normal, but so are your emotions, which might require greater emotional control than normal.Â
Â
Â
Libra (Autumnal Equinox to approx. October 21st): As discussed above regarding Cancers, you may find this Mercury retrograde hits you harder than most. Many of the challenges during the retrograde will have to do with your ego, character, doing what’s right, and being humble in affairs of the heart. What separates you is that there will be tension in the air rather than constant problems to face, and specifically, this tension will be internal, making it easy to hide from the external world but not from yourself. As April advances, the tension will continue, but the closer we get to May, the more this tension will dissipate. You may find that the whole month is a good time to revisit and adjust how you deal with emotions, romance, creativity, and spirituality. Another good focal point for the month is changing your social scene, or at least how you interact with society. Â
Â
Scorpio (Approx. October 21st to approximately November 21st): Surprisingly, April 2024 starts in a decent position, other than the ongoing tension regarding daily work life and prosperity. You may be more in control of your emotions than normal and have a mind for work. But, the hidden influence during the first two weeks of the month is the planet Mars, which rules both Scorpio and Aries. This means you may have more energy than normal, and your temper may be shorter if you hurry through things or if someone makes you mad. As the month continues, this extra energy will taper off the closer to the end of the month we get, only to be replaced with tension in the air having to do with your romantic life, daily activities, and communication. Focusing on your daily work life may yield surprising results if you use that vaulted focus to achieve success.Â
Â
Sagittarius (Approx. November 21st to Winter Solstice): It’s an interesting month for you, so paying attention to details will be very helpful. The Mercury retrograde in Aries may bring many unresolved things to the surface that need to be addressed, but in the long run, addressing them now may be a good thing. The emotional, romantic, creative, and spiritual challenges will continue for a while, but you may now be able to accrue internal healing. As the month continues, things go from minor situations to tension in general, with lots of problems coming up, especially ones with creativity and spirituality, and how you can juggle them with your daily work life. If you don’t have good emotional control, you may lose out on opportunities that come your way daily. Towards the end of the month, you may sense things are clearing, and you’re right, but they are still a few weeks away.Â
Capricorn (Winter Solstice to approx. January 21st): Like the other cardinal signs, Aries, Cancer, and Libra, April 2024 may greet you with a lot of challenges, especially when it comes to communication and internal psychological wounds, and surprisingly, the Mercury retrograde may act as a guide for what to focus on to resolve so that you can truly begin the rest of the year. Romance, spirituality, and creativity may all be rolling along smoothly, and your emotional control may be better than normal. As the month progresses, more challenges may come up, including romance, but there is a tradeoff: life, in general, may be slowing down and allowing you to focus on work more than you have been able to recently. Daily work may occupy much of your time during the last two weeks, allowing you to catch your breath before returning to work in May. Â
Â
Aquarius (Approx. January 21st to February 21st): Other than the ongoing physical world issues, you may find April rolls along surprisingly well for a month that is a Mercury retrograde. What comes up during this time are things that need to be done anyway, and if you do what you need to do to address them, their resolution may be particularly smooth. As April matures, though, as the retrograde winds down, things will stay smooth, but in the first two weeks of May, issues may crop up again and in greater quantity. But the good news is that this happens every year when planets move through Taurus, so you’ve got this. But, the eclipse on the 8th may intensify these yearly challenges, making you more emotionally triggered than normal. Just remind yourself it’s a distortion of the eclipse; thus, you can handle it with your intelligence.Â
Â
Pisces (Approx. February 21st to Spring Equinox): The theme of early April 2024 is stronger than normal emotions and the inability to see things clearly, which makes this a good time to focus on work, practicality, production, consistency, and your career. Emotional and spiritual growth may continue to be stunted, but this will break free the more into May we get. Before then, though, the last two weeks of April may bring tension in your daily work life, but the way forward may become clearer now that more planets are moving out of Pisces. You are correct if you feel positive change is right around the corner, but this won’t happen until mid to late May. And, as for the Mercury retrograde, well, it will be a retrograde to deal with, but not an over-the-top retrograde like it has been in the past.Â
